Anyone who knows anything about the history of this world and its wars could tell you that Russia has been a contender if not victor in the boxing ring for power. While America seems to reign the debatable superpower, their Red Scare was not unfounded. During the late 1970s, Russia had begun to experiment in the field of genetics, working towards what modern scientists described as a breakthrough - newer, stronger, more self sufficient soldiers. Well that's what everyone wants right? The cutting edge is an undeniable desire of any country who has ever had a beef where the other side had the same capacities.
The experimenting began with simple modifications, changing the strands of DNA to bond more loosely so that the strands could be broken apart for further and more complex changes in the future. After this was acheived, it was time for Russia to make the big decision - what sort of mutations would they like to orchestrate? It isn't absolutely certain why, but cats were the final decision. Silly Russians. You have the capacity to choose any animal and you choose one that is notorious for individual thinking. Despite their obvious fault in logic, the scientific breakthroughs were astronomic - figuratively speaking. Their test subjects were mainly government agents ordered into the laboritory, while orphaned children and homeless persons of little worth were used for the higher risk testing.
Lives were torn apart, as well as families in the case of the agents who were chosen for this government excursion. Still, the experimentation went on and in 1979 Russia prevailed. Like it did with the man on the moon, it beat the U.S. at creating the first hybrid super warrior. And, boy, were they superior. They served whatever purpose the Tsar put them to, from intel to flat dirty combat. As all things do, this was bound to come to an end. The werecats began to fall out of favor with the Tsar, disgusted with the blatance of his psychotic tendencies, and paranoia - seeing threats at each and every turn. Seeing his minions' discontent, the Tsar did what only the perpetually illogical can do and sent assasins out - inferior assasins - to destroy that which he had created. As one might guess, the werecats were not to be done away with by such a pitiful attempt, and fled. Their anger frightened the Tsar - the certainty of their retribution a plausible threat and so he began to hire foreign elements in attempts to fix the problem he created.
The process of being genetically mutilated seemed to have wiped the victims' memories clean, but as the years have gone by they are beginning to recollect. With this remembrance their anger gains liberty and therefore their minds. This is where we pick up...2009...where the new war has begun. This is a fight for justice, survival and pride. Jump in. Things are just heating up.
